Meet Michele

20+ years in the classroom. A lifelong advocate for students, teachers, and strong public schools.
For more than 20 years, Michele McCormack has dedicated her career to helping students learn, grow, and succeed.
As an educator, parent, and longtime Brevard County resident, Michele understands firsthand how school board decisions impact classrooms, teachers, students, and families every single day.
She is running for Brevard County School Board, District 5 because she believes schools should focus on what matters most — students, teachers, and strong learning environments.
Rooted in Service. Committed to Community.
Raised in a military family, Michele learned early the importance of service, resilience, and community.
After her family settled in Brevard County in 1988, Brevard quickly became home — the place where Michele would go on to build a career, raise a family, and dedicate herself to public education.
As a longtime community member, Michele believes strong schools are at the heart of strong communities.

An Educator First
Michele’s passion for education led her to pursue degrees in Elementary Education and Deaf Education, later earning a Master’s in Deaf Education to better serve students.
She has spent her career supporting students — particularly those who are Deaf and hard of hearing — giving her firsthand understanding of the individualized support students need to thrive.
After teaching both in Brevard County and at Edwards Air Force Base in California, Michele returned home to continue serving Brevard students and families.

Advocating for Students, Teachers & Families
Michele understands that school board decisions don’t just stay in board meetings — they shape real classrooms and affect real families.
Through years of involvement in public education advocacy, Michele has worked to better understand how policy decisions impact teachers, students, and educational outcomes.
She believes leadership should be grounded in experience, collaboration, and listening to the people most impacted — students, teachers, and families.

Why I'm Running
After more than 20 years in the classroom, I’ve seen firsthand what helps students succeed — and what stands in the way.
I’m running for School Board because I believe our schools should focus on students, support teachers and paraprofessionals, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
That means:
✔ Keeping politics out of classrooms
✔ Supporting and retaining teachers and paraprofessionals
✔ Strengthening services for students with disabilities
I believe strong schools build strong communities — and I’m committed to putting classrooms first.
