Each week, I’ll tackle important questions about our schools — breaking down the facts, what they mean, and how they affect classrooms.

WHAT IS CHALK TALK?
Hi, I’m Michele — and welcome to Chalk Talk with Michele.
As an educator with more than 20 years in the classroom, I know education can feel complicated. School board decisions, policies, educational terms, and headlines often raise important questions — but they don’t always come with clear explanations about what they actually mean or how they affect students, teachers, and classrooms.
That’s why I created Chalk Talk.
Each week, I’ll post a new question on my Facebook page — something connected to our schools, education, or important topics impacting Brevard County families. Then, here on this page, I’ll share the real answer, along with honest facts, classroom perspective, and an explanation of what it all means and how it affects our schools.
My goal is simple:
To help our community better understand the real facts — not the noise — so we can have thoughtful conversations about what’s best for students, teachers, and families.
Whether we’re talking about school board decisions, teacher support, student services, special education, or how policies impact classrooms, I want this to be a place where you can find honest information and real educator perspective.
Because strong schools start with informed communities.
I’m glad you’re here — and I hope you’ll check back each week for a new Chalk Talk topic.
HOW CHALK TALK WORKS
Step 1: Watch for the Weekly Question

Step 2: Join the Conversation
Think about your answer, engage with the community, and share your perspective.
Step 3: Get the Real Answer
Come back here for facts, explanations, and classroom insight into what the topic means and how it affects our schools.
THANKS FOR BEING HERE
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the issues shaping our schools and community.
I truly believe informed conversations help us build stronger schools, stronger classrooms, and stronger communities. My hope is that Chalk Talk becomes a trusted place where you can find honest answers, real facts, and classroom perspective on the topics that matter most.
I’m grateful you’re here, and I hope you’ll check back each week for a new Chalk Talk question and conversation.
Together, we can keep putting classrooms first.
— Michele
